Raw honey is honey that hasn’t been heated or pasteurized, and it contains natural vitamins, enzymes, powerful antioxidants, and other important nutrients. Raw honey has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties, and promotes digestive health. And, local honey also contains a blend of local pollen, which can strengthen a person’s immune system, and reduce pollen allergy symptoms.
Raw and regular honey are processed differently. Raw honey is only strained before it’s bottled, which means it retains most of the beneficial nutrients and antioxidants that it naturally contains.
Conversely, processed regular honey may undergo a variety of processing, which may remove beneficial nutrients like pollen and reduce its level of antioxidants.
Hopefully, this never happens. But if that day arrives, let us know immediately. You can chat with us through an email [email protected] or send message through what’s app +971 505149187. No. We only produce raw honey with all the good stuff still inside. Our raw honeys are unpasteurized and unblended. Just as nature created.
Real raw honey crystallizes, and that is a natural process and good thing. Honey is a highly concentrated natural sugar solution containing more than 70% sugars (fructose and glucose mainly) and less than 20% water. It is natural for the honey to crystallize when the water in honey contains more sugar than it can hold. The two principal sugars in honey are fructose (fruit sugar) and glucose (grape sugar). The content of fructose and glucose in honey varies from one type of honey to the other. Generally, the fructose ranges from 30- 44% and glucose from 25- 40%. The balance of these two major sugars causes the crystallization of honey, and the relative percentage of each determines whether it crystallizes rapidly or slowly.
What crystallizes is the glucose, due to its lower solubility. Fructose is more soluble in water than glucose and will remain fluid. When glucose crystallizes, it separates from water and takes the form of tiny crystals. As the crystallization progresses and more glucose crystallizes, those crystals spread throughout the honey. The solution changes to a stable saturated form, and ultimately the honey becomes thick or crystallized. Crystallization of honey is a gift of nature and the crystallized honey also tastes richer!! When the honey is in a crystallized state it takes longer to melt on your tongue, allowing all of your taste buds to activate and pick up on the subtleties.
Crystallized honey can be returned to its liquid state with little effort. Heat some water in a pot and put your honey container in the pot of hot water until the honey turns liquid. This gentle transfer of heat to the honey helps bring it back to liquid form without overheating the honey. With time, the honey will crystalize again, but reheating it with the same hot water bath technique will once more return it to liquid form.
No, it is not safe to feed any honey to children who are less than 1 year old as they do not have the necessary ability to digest honey.
